Can You Build Muscle After 40

Q: I am 45 year old, i used to train 20 year ago, i was a hard gainer even then i used to try all the supplements going, leaving me skint,to no avail,i have recently taken it up again and have soon toned up, i am just wantening to know if i can ever build myself up?

A: Of course you can build yourself up. I was under the impression that as one got older your recovery rate is not what it once was. I do have a 56 year old training partner who claims this is a load of bolloney. I can't argue with the chap as he has been training 5-7 days a week since he was 18. The 1st thing he would say is to forget about your age and just get on with it, so I'll echo these sentiments and say that some powerlifters only reach their peak in their mid-forties!
