How Much Rest Between Muscle Groups
Q: My question is - how long should I rest between working each muscle group?
A: The amount of time you rest between muscle groups in a single workout session should be no more than 2-3 minutes. Just the amount of time it takes to set up your next session. I generally advise clients to train one large muscle with one small or one muscle group at a time per day. This would allow 24 hours rest time between muscle groups or training sessions. You should rest a minimum of 48 hours before repeating training of a muscle group. The more intense your training the more recoup time you may allot.
